By now it is well known that one of the side effects of cancer treatment is hair loss. Those who are undergoing radiation treatments or chemotherapy might simply assume that they are going to go bald—but is this always the case? How quickly will this hair loss happen? What can you expect, and how should you prepare for it?
I I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will begin chemo in the next few weeks. I am advised that I will lose my hair and will need a wig. I am unsure as to when I should purchase it, and what type of wig I should get. What do you recommend?
I am a 50 year old woman who is medically very healthy, with the exception of my hair continuing to get thinner and thinner. I have seen physicians and dermatologists and have yet to find a cause or solution for my situation. Please help.
